How to fit an adjustable knee support

The wrap-around support has no sizes: four straps let you set the fit for your own leg, and you can loosen it between sets or on a long walk. The order you fasten the straps in makes the difference between a support that stays put and one that slides.

Before you start

  • What you need: Nothing to measure. Fits knee circumferences of 33–52 cm.
  • Clean, dry skin — no lotion or sweat, so the grip band and straps hold.
  • Have the product page's size ranges to hand if you're choosing a size.

Steps

  1. Open all four straps

Undo every strap and lay the support flat with the lining facing up and the padded ring at the centre.

    Fit: none
  2. Position the padded ring

Sit with the knee bent to about 30°. Wrap the support around the leg so the padded ring sits around the kneecap.

    Fit: none
  3. Fasten the two middle straps first

Close the strap just above the kneecap, then the one just below. Snug, not tight — you should be able to slide a finger under the edge.

    Fit: snug
  4. Then the top and bottom straps

Close the top strap around the thigh and the bottom strap around the calf. These hold the support in place; the middle straps set the feel.

    Fit: light to snug
  5. Walk and adjust

Walk around for a minute. Loosen any strap that leaves a mark or pinches, and tighten any that feels loose. Readjust as you warm up.

    Check

How long to wear it and how to wash it

Wear it for activity and take it off for long rests; don't sleep in it. Hand wash at 30 °C with straps fastened, rinse well and air dry away from heat. No bleach, no tumble dryer.

Good to know

Supports are for comfort and a feeling of support during activity. If you have an injury or a health concern, speak to a GP or physiotherapist before using one.

Questions about the adjustable knee support

Which way up does it go?

The longer, wider end goes around the thigh at the top. The wordmark on the side supports reads the right way up when it's on correctly.

Can I wear it over leggings?

Yes. The straps hold it in place over thin fabric. Over bare skin it grips a little better.

The side supports feel stiff at first.

That's normal. They're flexible plastic strips that soften slightly with body heat and settle after a few wears.
