How to wear a patella strap
The patella strap is the lightest knee support we sell: a slim band with a padded tube that sits just below the kneecap. It takes seconds to put on and fits under anything. Position matters more than tension, so this guide is mostly about where it goes.
Before you start
- What you need: Nothing to measure. One size fits 30–48 cm around the leg just below the kneecap.
- Clean, dry skin — no lotion or sweat, so the grip band and straps hold.
- Have the product page's size ranges to hand if you're choosing a size.

Steps
Find the spot
Sit with the knee bent to about 90°. Feel for the soft area just below the bottom edge of the kneecap; that's where the padded tube sits.
Fit: nonePlace the pad
Hold the strap with the padded tube against that spot, horizontally, centred on the front of the leg.
Fit: noneWrap and fasten
Wrap the strap around the back of the leg and fasten the hook-and-loop closure at the front, to one side of the pad.
Fit: snugCheck with a straight leg
Straighten the leg. The strap should stay in place but you should still be able to slide a finger under it. If it's tight enough to leave a deep mark, loosen it.

Straps loosen a little as you warm up. Retighten once after ten minutes if needed.
Check
How long to wear it and how to wash it
Wear it for activity and take it off for long rests; don't sleep in it. Hand wash at 30 °C with straps fastened, rinse well and air dry away from heat. No bleach, no tumble dryer.
Good to know
Supports are for comfort and a feeling of support during activity. If you have an injury or a health concern, speak to a GP or physiotherapist before using one.
